We currently have the above position available at our flexible packaging printing facility in Ndabeni, Cape Town and wish to invite all suitably qualified applicants to submit their details for our consideration.

The incumbent, reporting to the Production Manager, is responsible to manage a team of laminators that is responsible for operating a laminating press to produce laminated matter to preset quality and quality standards.

Key responsibilities:
o Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning staffing requirements, work procedures or duty assignments,       considering time constraints.
o Direct or coordinate production and processing in the laminating department.
o Review operations and discuss production or processing problems with technical and administrative staff
o Prepare and maintain production reports.
o Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products to ensure finished product are of prescribed quality.
o Develop or implement quality control systems to detect production problems.
o Prepare schedules for preventative maintenance.
o Check adherence to planned maintenance requirements by operators.
o Check that all materials to produce each job are ordered and issued as per processing schedules.
o Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish tasks.
o Performing day to day administrative tasks such as maintaining production information files and processing paperwork.

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following requirements:
o A Grade 12 qualification
o 3 years’ experience within a Flexible Packaging environment
o 1-2 years Supervisory / Management experience
o Knowledge & understanding of the Laminating Process
o Knowledge of Production Management System
o Knowledge of all Standard Operating Procedures in the Flexible Packaging Industry
o Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
o Problem Solving Skills
o Analytical ability
o Good communication skills – both verbal and written
